The Hispania team will join Sauber in supporting Japan after a devastating 9.0 earthquake sparked a tsunami which has claimed thousands of lives, as well as causing a Nuclear emergency.
Sauber have opted to run the the following Japanese message: “我々の祈り、日本に届きますように。”, which translates into: “May our prayers reach the people in Japan.”
Narain Karthikeyan and Vitantonio Liuzzi’s F111’s will both sport the Japanese flag.
“What has happened in Japan is terrible,” said team principal Colin Kolles. “I would like to express that I was very shocked with what occurred.
“Japan is one of my favourite countries and I have a huge amount of respect for Japanese people and their culture. I am sure they will overcome this terrible situation.”
