Story retraction: It turns out Mika Hakkinen never made the comments in regards to Michael Schumacher being a ‘tragic ex-hero’ and German publication TZ had in fact made the quotes up.
The publication apologised to all those concerned and confirmed the member of staff behind the story has been sacked.
