Numerous reports have floated around over the past month suggesting that Lotus are looking to switch to Renault power for the 2011 season, however these reports have always been vehemently denied by the team.

The BBC though, is now reporting that meetings took place on the morning of the British GP between Renault and Lotus, and the subject matter regards engine supply.

It’s thought there could potentially be a deal involving the road car side of the Lotus outfit, therefore, making sense for the F1 team to also run the French manufacturer engines.

Mike Gascoyne denies any tie-up between the two, stating that the team are looking to the future with current supplier, Cosworth.
