Red Bull are aiming to debut their F-duct system at this weekend’s Turkish grand prix, which is something that worries Lewis Hamilton.
At the start of the season, McLaren pioneered a new device to stall the rear-wing. It was quickly copied by Sauber, Ferrari and then Mercedes, however Red Bull struggled to incorporate such a system into their chassis.
The team are now expected to debut their system this weekend, if its successful it could give the team an extra 6-7 kph on the straights – wiping out McLaren and Ferrari’s straight-line speed advantages making the already dominant RB6 even stronger.
“With this system the best team becomes even stronger,” Hamilton told the Bild newspaper.
“The RB6 has lots of good, detailed solutions. I have told my engineers that we must copy them.”
McLaren are set to unveil some new updates at the Turkish GP in the hope of closing the gap to the Bull’s.
