Susie Wolff announces her departure from Venturi Formula E team

Following the Season 8 finale in South Korea, Susie Wolff has announced her departure from Venturi and Formula E.

The former DTM racer accepted a position as team principal of the Venturi Formula E team in July 2018, and was promoted to CEO in November 2021.

Under Wolff’s supervision, the Monegasque team saw a considerable improvement, going from competing for a handful of podiums to victories in the span of three seasons. Season 8 was the culmination of Wolff’s journey, with the team fighting for both titles against the Mercedes factory team, which provides Venturi with its engines.

Venturi driver Edoardo Mortara claimed the last win of the season at the Seoul E-Prix, to seal their best campaign – so far – in the all-electric series.

“I leave with immense pride in the solid foundations we have built together, as the team begins a new chapter with Maserati,” reads Wolff’s first tweet, acknowledging Venturi’s new partner for Season 9.

“When I joined [Venturi], my goal was to build a team that was not just successful on track, but stood for a greater purpose. A racing family, that celebrated diversity and championed inclusivity. While that journey still continues, I’m so proud of the progress we’ve made.”

“Little did I know four years ago the scale of the challenges we would face as a team. It was these tough moments that defined the resilience, faith and trust that we have built in each other: to come from racing at the back to consistently fighting for victories and titles.”

Wolff’s last tweet is a thank you to Gildo Pastor, owner of Venturi, and Alejandro Agag, Chairman of Formula E.

While Venturi will continue in Formula E with their new partner Maserati, Wolff’s future remains to be clarified.

I wouldn’t rule out her husband having a plan to install her as yet another mole at the FIA to try and twist the rules in favour of his failing team.
