DS Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne went quickest in second practice for the Rome E-Prix, after he could manage 14th in first practice. The Frenchman set a 1:39.082, almost a second quicker than Edoardo Mortara’s leading time in the earlier session.

Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein was second quickest, 0.171 slower than Vergne. Sam Bird completed the top three for Jaguar.

The man who was last in first practice, Andretti’s Jake Dennis, was fourth. Current World Champion Nyck de Vries, driving for Mercedes-EQ, was fifth fastest, 0.275 slower than Vergne.

Mitch Evans was the second Jaguar in the top ten, 6th fastest in this session. Antonio Felix da Costa was seventh, also the second Techeetah in the top ten, but was over four tenths off his teammate.

Maximilian Gunther stayed in 11th, the same as first practice, for Nissan. Nick Cassidy took 12th, in his Envision, while Lucas di Grassi was 13th for Venturi.

Sebastien Buemi was again the slower Nissan in 14th, while Alexander Sims in the Mahindra was 15th. The second Mahindra, in the hands of Oliver Rowland, wasn’t far behind in 16th, while Sergio Sette Camara managed 17th for Dragon.

Dan Ticktum was the fastest Nio 333 driver, with Oliver Askew 19th for Andretti. Antonio Giovinazzi could only manage 20th for Dragon, with Oliver Turvey 21st for Nio 333. Andre Lotterer rounded out the field in a surprising 22nd.
