Derani leads Sebring 12H halfway through

With half of the race completed, Pipo Derani leads the 70th running of the Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The Brazilian captured the lead during a round of pit stops under caution. This caution was caused when Giorgio Sernagiotto spun  the #47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo into the barriers.

Action Express Racing then performed a fuel-only stop for the #31 Cadillac DPi-VR, allowing Derani to leapfrog to the front and regain the lead after losing it under the previous round of stops.

Behind Derani, the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05 of Ricky Taylor and the #48 Ally Cadillac of Mike Rockenfeller held second and third respectively.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports leads LMP2 with Mikkel Jensen at the wheel of the #52 ORECA 07-GIibson ahead of the #18 Era Motorsport ORECA of Ryan Dalziel.

Both teams surpassed the #29 Racing Team Nederland ORECA, which was in the lead after DragonSpeed crashed, but dropped down once Frits van Eerd got behind the wheel.

Felipe Fraga leads LMP3 in the #74 Riley Motorsports Ligier JS P320-Nissan.

The GTD Pro class is headed by the #24 BMW M4 GT3 of Philipp Eng, who took the lead of the class as the result of a fuel-only stop under caution.

Eng was running second at the time, having passed the #3 Corvette C8.R of Nick Catsburg and only behind the #97 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Jules Gounon.

Gounon is now in second place, with Catsburg third.

Mercedes still leads the GTD class one-two. Mike Skeen is leading in the #32 Gilbert/Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

He holds the top spot ahead of the #57 Winward Racing Mercedes driven by Philip Ellis.
