Mark Webber led the timing sheets during the first practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday, ahead of Australian GP winner Kimi Raikkonen.
Raikkonen’s best, a 1:37.003, was marginally slower than Webber’s best despite the Finn only getting 30 minutes running due to a KERS issue.
Sebastian Vettel was third fastest ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes.
The session was dominated by long-runs in an effort to beat the rain which is expected during FP2 and possibly the race.
Several drivers complained of heavy graining during their longer-runs which could be a concern for the race.
