Wayne Taylor Racing have take victory in dominant fashion in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship race at Laguna Seca.

The #10 Acura ARX-05 driven by Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor started the race from pole position and had a nearly unchallenged run to the flag.

The main challenge came from the #60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05 of Dane Cameron and Olivier Pla, which attempted to beat their rivals with an off-sequence strategy, but with the lack of a crucial safety car, the strategy failed.

After Pla was passed on the road by Taylor, the Frenchman also fell victim to the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR of Pipo Derani and Felipe Nasr.

On the final lap, there was contact between the #18 Era Motorsport ORECA of Ryan Dalziel and Gabriel Aubry’s #8 Tower Motorsport ORECA at the Corkscrew.

As a result, Dalziel and Dwight Merriman dropped from second to fourth on the final lap, while Aubry and John Farano finished second.

The #11 Tower Motorsport ORECA of Tristan Nunez and Steven Thomas completed the podium in third place.

Corvette scores another one-two

The pair bested the pole-sitting the #3 sister car of Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor, which came home in second place.

The class was completed by the #79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Matt Campbell and Cooper MacNeil.
