Dennis Hauger has taken pole position with a last gasp effort during F3 qualifying at Zandvoort.
The Norwegian driver set a 01:24:580 in the dying seconds of the session on Friday to go top, beating Trident’s David Schumacher by 0.135s.
Schumacher looked to have the top spot set in the later stages of the session, only to find himself being bested by the Red Bull junior.
Behind them, Victor Martins took third for MP Motorsport, with Trident’s Jack Doohan in fourth ahead of stablemate Clement Novalak.
The session was briefly red flagged with just over four minutes left on the clock due to a spin by Charouz driver Hunter Yeany.
Yeany lost control of his car through turn two and spun, coming to a halt in the middle of the banked turn three.
Race control opted to halt the session, although Yeany got moving again shortly thereafter.
Caio Collet was sixth, ahead of Jak Crawford, who qualified seventh after topping the practice session on Friday morning.
Alexander Smolyar was the best-placed ART driver in eighth place, with Ayumu Iwasa ninth.
The top ten was rounded out by Arthur Leclerc.
