Brendon Hartley has set the fastest time in the morning session at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day.

The New Zealander posted a time of 03:31:263 aboard the #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid to go fastest during a stop-start session at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Hartley was 0.256s quicker than the #36 Alpine A480-Gibson of Nicolas Lapierre, with Olivier Pla third in the #709 Glickenhaus 007 LMH and Mike Conway fourth in the #7 Toyota.

The four-hour session was red flagged a total of three times. The first occured when there was an object on the circuit at the Dunlop curve, which needed to be cleared.

Tom Gamble brought out the second interruption when he brought the #86 GR Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 to a halt between Tertre Rouge and the first chicane after a likely front end impact.

When John Hartsthorne crashed the #95 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage AMR at the first chicane, the session was halted for a third and final time.

Wayne Boyd was fastest in LMP2 in the #23 United Autosports ORECA 07-Gibson with a time of 03:33:036, just under four-tenths clear of the #22 sister car driven by Phil Hanson.

Yifei Ye went third fastest in the #41 Team WRT ORECA, ahead of Risi Competizione’s Ryan Cullen in fourth and Sean Gelael fifth for JOTA.

The Indonesian driver is the only one driving his #28 ORECA at the test today, as team-mates Stoffel Vandoorne and Tom Blomqvist are both racing in the Formula E finale in Berlin.

Paul-Loup Chatin took the #48 IDEC Sport ORECA to sixth, with the top ten in the highly competitive class rounded out by Racing Team Nederland, Realteam Racing, Panis Racing and DragonSpeed.

GTE Pro was led by the two factory Porsches. Kevin Estre logged the quickest time in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 as the Frenchman lapped the Circuit de la Sarthe in a time of 03:52:901.

Estre was some six-tenths clear of team-mate and compatriot Fred Makowiecki in the #91 Porsche in second place, with a third French driver in the form of Come Ledogar completing the top three in the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.

The second AF Corse Ferrari was fourth, ahead of the #64 Corvette C8.R of Nick Tandy, the WeatherTech Racing Porsche and the #63 Corvette and #72 HubAuto Porsche completing the class.

Porsche also led GTE Am, as debutants Absolute Racing led the class thanks to a 03:55:841 set by Alessio Picariello in the #18 Porsche 911 RSR-19.

Picariello led the #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 driven by Julien Andlauer, with the top three completed by the #98 NorthWest AMR Aston Martin Vantage AMR.

Further incidents in the session included an off for Dwight Merriman in the #17 IDEC Sport ORECA, as well as a spin in the gravel for Satoshi Hoshino in the #777 D’Station Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR at the Porsche Curves.
