Birthday boy Kelvin van der Linde took a dominant victory in the second DTM race of the weekend for Team Abt Sportsline in the #3 Audi R8 LM3 GT3, as he led from pole and had a relatively untroubled run to the chequered flag.

The Team Rosberg #51 Audi R8 LM3 GT3 of Nico Müller finished second after starting fourth, while Lucas Auer came through from seventh to take the last spot on the podium for Mercdes-AMG #22 Mercedes-AMG Team Winward.

Sheldon van der Linde managed to take second in the opening laps as he took full advantage of Liam Lawson and Mueller fighting for position, but lost out in the pitstops to Auer and Müller, and eventually finished fourth for Rowe Racing in the #31 BMW M6 GT3.

Saturday race winner Lawson, in the #30 Red Bull AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, had contact with the #10 T3 Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Esteban Muth in the opening laps at the Variante Della Roggia. He subsequently fell back to last and had to fight his way through, but could only finish 14th and out of the points.

Marco Wittmann in the #11 Walkenhorst BMW M6 GT3 finished 5th, with the secibd Mercedes-AMG Team Winward, with Philip Ellis behind the wheel, crossed the line in sixth.

Alex Albon finished seventh, in the #23 AlphaTauri AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, as found his way past a struggling Muth with 15 minutes to go, and then DTM 2013 champion Mike Rockenfeller also got past in the closing laps to see the chequered flag in 8th.

Muth, then, finished a disappointing ninth, after running as high as second in before the pitstops. Finally, Maximilian Götz rounded out the top 10 for #4 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT.
