The NTT IndyCar Series has announced that it has extended its title partnership deal with NTT for multiple years to come.

NTT, officially known as the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, is based in Japan and is the fourth largest telecommunications company in the world in terms of revenue.

The company signed on as title sponsor of the IndyCar series in 2019, taking over from Verizon which had held the role for five years.

More than just a title sponsor, NTT provides the technology backbone of the series and of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The systems power many behind-the-scenes aspects related to running a large series, including everything from real-time spectator gate flow rates to the wide-ranging IndyCar mobile app.

“With world-class technology and innovation, NTT has helped take the IndyCar Series to the next level,” said Roger Penske, Founder and Chairman, Penske Corporation.

“Over the first two years as entitlement sponsor of the series, the dedicated team at NTT has helped IndyCar become more efficient and effective through smart technologies.

“As our sport continues to grow by connecting with a new generation of fans, NTT helps take us down new roads by creating more engaging experiences through our shared digital platforms.

“We thank NTT for the long-term commitment to the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and we look forward to driving the future of our sport forward, together.”

Specifics of the deal, including how many years the partnership was extended, were not revealed.
