Olli Caldwell capitalised on mistakes of others to take his maiden FIA Formula 3 win in the second race of the weekend in Barcelona.

Two separate collisions occurred during the second half of the event that had huge significance on the race result.

The first was with David Schumacher and Enzo Fittipaldi, who fought over the lead through Turns 1 and 2 before the pair collided and ending their races on the spot.

After the Safety Car restart, the penultimate lap saw Matteo Nannini and Dennis Hauger come together at the same corner and the pair dropped down the order and out of the points.

Caldwell inherited the lead and would go on to win for PREMA with Victor Martins second and Frederik Vesti completing the podium in third.

Clement Novalak finished for Trident in front of Caio Collet, Jonny Edgar, Ayumu Iwasa and Jack Doohan.

Red Bull Junior driver Jak Crawford was ninth with Juan Manuel Correa picking up his first points of the season in his first weekend of racing since his F2 crash in 2019.

One more race to come on Sunday morning, as Dennis Hauger will begin Race 3 from pole position after Friday’s qualifying session.

The final F3 event of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend commences at 12:05 track time.
