Anthony Alfredo will move to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021 to replace John Hunter Nemechek as driver of the #38 Ford at Front Row Motorsports. Alfredo will be Michael McDowell’s new teammate at FRM as Nemechek returns to the NASCAR Truck Series to drive for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

“This is really an unbelievable moment,” Alfredo said. “When you start out racing karts as a kid, you dream of making it to the sport’s top level. I want to thank Bob Jenkins [FRM owner] and everyone at Front Row Motorsports for making this dream a reality. I know the challenges ahead, but I’m here to work hard and prove myself.”

The 2021 season-opening Daytona 500 will be Alfredo’s Cup Series debut and will kick off his first full-time season in any of NASCAR’s three national series. He has a combined 32 starts across the NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck series. He posted two top-fives and nine top-10s in 19 Xfinity races as a driver for Richard Childress Racing last season and two top-10s in 13 races for DGR-Crosley in 2019.

“We met Anthony and spent time with him when last season ended,” Front Row Motor Sports owner Bob Jenkins said. “We wanted another young driver and someone that fit well into our team. We feel that Anthony is a great match, and we look forward to this season together.”
