Risi Competizione will be entering the 2021 Rolex 24 at Daytona, entering a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the GTLM class.

The Houston-based squad, which has been affiliated with Ferrari for over two decades, will be entering the twice-around-the-clock enduro at Daytona International Speedway for the 20th time. It took a class win in 2002 and four additional podium finishes, the last of which came in 2019.

The team’s #62 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo will be piloted by Ferrari factory aces James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Davide Rigon, with the trio joined by Bathurst Twelve Hours winner Jules Gounon.

Calado, Pier Guidi and Rigon took Risi’s most recent Daytona podium in 2019 and raced for the team in 2020, which brought a retirement after a difficult outing.

Gounon, meanwhile, will make his first appearance for Risi at Daytona after contesting the 2020 edition of the race with Meyer Shank Racing. The Frenchman, whose tenure as a Bentley factory driver recently came to an end, has raced for the team in the past two editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Risi Competizione’s return to the GTLM class of the championship provides a welcome boost to the class’ number of entrants following Porsche’s withdrawal at the end of the 2020 season. The team’s lone Ferrari joins two cars from BMW and Corvette.
