Rubens Barrichello says he’s unfazed by the increasing speculation that Kimi Raikkonen is seeking to replace him at Williams for the 2012 season.
The Finnish driver was seen visiting the Williams factory in early September, but the outfit refused to comment on why he visited, putting it down to a ‘private’ visit.
The Brazilian refused to discuss the matter in any detail.
“Right now is a big time for rumours and there is no point. My Twitter is going crazy with people asking things,” said Barrichello on Thursday.
“Whatever people say about me is not true, so I cannot rely on other information about other drivers. Whenever I meet with my family, they ask me crazy things that they read in the press. To say something now will make more fuss.”
The veteran racer of 316 starts is focusing on next year and has no plans to retire anytime soon.
“Definitely I want to be racing next year. That’s my point. I feel better prepared than at any other time.
“Williams has unfortunately not given me a good car yet and the moving forward means that we should stick together with a good and better car next year.”
