Peugeot Sport has confirmed that they will announce the details of their 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship entry at Le Mans on Friday.

The French manufacturer presented a new logo and look for Peugeot Sport on Monday while at the same time confirming that Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato will announce the details of their commitment to the top class of the FIA WEC on Friday at 2 pm local time.

Additionally, Peugeot also confirmed that the WEC program will see close collaboration with French oil firm Total.

With the announcement, the French firm looks set for a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time since 2011. Peugeot has captured three overall victories at Le Mans, winning with the V10-powered 905 in 1992 and 1993 before defeating Audi with the diesel-powered 908 LMP1 car in 2009. I

Peugeot also hinted that the French manufacturer will have significant brand representation at the 88th edition of the French endurance classic, stating that ‘the monumental Peugeot Lion will oversee the 88th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 unfold from the banks of the Dunlop turn.’

“Peugeot Sport turns to a new page of its history book with the development of new high-performing electrified technologies, the result of the expertise and technical knowledge of its teams,” said Francois Wales, Peugeot Sport director. “The next launch of the 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED and the return to the World Endurance Championship are the notable achievements of this work.

It was important that our identity symbolize this new chapter in which Peugeot Sport is committed passionately, in strength and professionally.”
