The ART driver was in command of the race following his quick start from third on the grid to get ahead of Juri Vips and reverse-grid pole sitter Artem Markelov.

Louis Deletraz powered through to end his weekend with two podiums to his name with second and Vips completed the podium in third.

Mick Schumacher fended off Guanyu Zhou to cross the line in fourth, extending his lead in the championship.

The German’s nearest rival Callum Ilott was sixth ahead of Jehan Daruvala and Marino Sato.

Robert Shwartzman scored no points again with ninth and falling further behind in the race for the title.

Lundgaard also scored the points for the fastest lap, elevating him to third in Drivers’ Standings, just 16 points behind Schumacher.

Callum Ilott is second and eight points adrift, while Shwartzman drops down to fourth and 21 off the top.

FIA Formula 2 will next be back in action in a couple of weeks time in Sochi, part of the Russian Grand Prix support bill.
