Prema driver Logan Sargeant qualified on pole position for the first FIA Formula 3 race of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend, extending his title lead in the process..

Sargeant led the 30-minute session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday afternoon and his pole, his third in succession, means he now leads the standings by five points.

Sargeant found himself in fourth at the end of the first part of running, with Lirim Zendeli setting the pace ahead of Piastri and Liam Lawson.

But by the end of the session, Sargeant was able to find more time to put his Prema on pole by a tenth of a second, with Jake Hughes joining him on the front row of the grid.
