Callum Ilott dominated the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race to take his second victory of the season and the lead in the Drivers’ Standings.
The home-hero maintained the lead from pole position and won by over eight seconds from Christian Lundgaard in the runner-up position, which also see him leapfrog Robert Shwartzman into second in the championship.
Jack Aikten, part of the Williams Driver Academy, performed faultlessly to keep out of trouble to bring his Campos Racing car home on the podium for the first time in 2020.
Nikita Mazepin was next for Hitech after going on the alternate strategy, overtaking Mick Schumacher and Louis Deletraz on his way to fourth place.
Deletraz was fifth in front of Yuki Tsunoda, while Schumacher crossed the line seventh ahead of Shwartzman, who will start on reverse-grid pole for Sunday’s Sprint Race.
Guanyu Zhou was ninth in the second UNI-Virtuosi car and bagged the points for the fastest lap out of all those in the top ten that was completed by Felipe Drugovich.
Callum Ilott’s victory at Silverstone means he is now 15 points in front over second-place Christian Lundgaard, with Robert Shwartzman a further two points back in third.
The Sprint Race for the fifth round of the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship takes stage on Sunday morning at 10:10 BST.
