NASCAR has been running on a modified schedule since its return from a 10-week break for the COVID-19 pandemic on May 17 and since then the sanctioning body has been adding races gradually.

On Friday, NASCAR notified teams of races through August 9, according to an Autoweek report, adding to the schedule through June 21 that already had been officially announced. The additional races have not officially been announced to the public.

The addition includes a double-header weekend at Pocono Raceway, with a June 27 NASCAR Cup Series race preceded by a NASCAR Truck Series event and a June 28 Cup Series race preceded by an NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

The schedule addition also includes the All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and points-paying races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and a Cup Series doubleheader at Michigan International Speedway on August 8 and 9.

Since its return from the coronavirus-induced break, NASCAR races have run without fans in attendance and that will continue for all races at least through the publicly announced dates through June 21. Pocono Raceway also has announced that its races will be held without fans.

“Following the guidance on sporting events in Pennsylvania issued by Governor Tom Wolf this week, the 2020 NASCAR events at Pocono Raceway will be held without fans in attendance,” a statement Pocono Raceway read.

“Current ticket holders can request a refund or account credit by visiting our website. We appreciate our fans’ patience, as well as the collaborative efforts from Governor Wolf’s administration and NASCAR, during these unique times. More details will be made available at a later date.”
