Mark Webber has suggested he will see out his Formula One career with Red Bull or leave the sport in 2012.
The Australian put forward three options, stick it out with the Milton Keynes based outfit, retire from the sport or swich teams – he ruled out the latter as ‘unlikely’, despite earlier suggesting it was a possibility.
“Stay here, stop or drive somewhere else – which is probably unlikely,” he told Reuters.
“It’s obviously down a lot to how I feel about things and we’ll see how we feel later in the year.”
Webber revealed that he could have quite a few years back, particularly after his difficult years with Williams in 2005/06 when he finished 10th and 14th in the standings.
“I could have stopped two, three years ago but I didn’t, I kept going. The results have been good in the last few years and are still being good now.
“We know the window in my career where I was thinking about it [quitting]. It didn’t happen, I came to Red Bull and [we’ve] done some great things together.”
Indeed they have. The 34-year-old finished 3rd in 2010 and 4th the year before. Meanwhile, Red Bull have gone on to win both championships and look set to fight once again in 2011.
