Richard Verschoor will contest a second season with MP Motorsport in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

The Dutchman last year finished 13th in the series last year with 34 points, with three fourth-place finishes in Paul Ricard and Monza the highest he had achieved. The 19-year old more recently won the Macau Grand Prix with the team in November.

Verschoor will join compatriot Bent Viscaal and Danish rookie Lukas Dunner in MP’s line-up this campaign.

“I am happy to continue in FIA Formula 3 together with MP Motorsport and TeamNL”, Verschoor shared. “Last year saw an upward trend in the second half of the season, culminating in that amazing victory at Macau where everything just clicked.”

“I’m eager to continue this trend, and I’m confident that I can be a frontrunner in 2020.”

Throughout his career, Verschoor has won the Spanish F4 and SMP titles in 2016 before his graduation to the Formula Renault and GP3 Series.

“It is good news that we will continue working together with Richard,” said MP Motorsport team manager Sander Dorsman.

“Last year, we showed lots of promise FIA F3 but now we aim for podiums and more victories.”

The 30-car grid in F3 has been completed and pre-season testing begins at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain on 1-3 March.
