Oliver Solberg and Elliot Edmondson lead Rally Italia Sardegna after the final stage of the morning loop, having gone six seconds faster than the overnight leader Thierry Neuville.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing title challenger blitzed his championship rivals by winning two of the day’s stages. Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin lead the virtual championship standings after SS10 by just four points and remain in sixth overall.
“Happy with the car. A bit careful sometimes. A tricky stage, didn’t want to take any risks and have a rhythm. Let’s see what Thierry does. Tried to stay clean and do my best. Happy with the rear of the car, follows all the time, specially in the narrow parts. First half was not good for me, second was better,” said Solberg.
Adrien Fourmaux suffered a puncture in the opening stage, dropping to fifth, but quickly re-passed Sami Pajari for fourth.
