The NTT IndyCar Series has compiled a long list of figures that show impressive growth across the breadth of the series.

From television viewership, to in-person attendance, to social media presence, and even merchandise sales, America’s top open wheel series is on the climb.

As reported earlier this month, FOX earned an average audience of 1.68 million viewers for each race. That marks the largest viewership figure in nearly two decades.

IndyCar also saw increased attendance at tracks, with approximately a 20 percent increase over the year before.

Multiple venues announced record turnout and grandstand sellouts, including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which filled its enormous grandstands with multiple hundreds of thousands of fans in late May.

These impressive figures come even as Alex Palou continued his dominant form and clinched his fourth consecutive title before the season finale in Laguna Seca.

Repeat champions and relatively predictable winners can at times lead to fans losing their enthusiasm for a series, but that does not appear to be the case here.

“This is an incredible new era for the NTT IndyCar Series, defined by growth, energy and momentum,” Penske President & CEO Mark Miles said.

“Our partnership with FOX Sports has raised the bar for our sport, and in turn we’ve invested in new events and opportunities to accelerate our already immense progress.

“Alongside our teams and partners, our commitment to maintain and expand one of the fastest growth curves in all of sports is unmatched.”

Other areas highlighted

In addition to traditional audience metrics, IndyCar reported that it saw notable gains in its online presence.

The series’ own app saw a 20 percent increase in use throughout the season as fans pulled it up on their phones to view live stats, listen to driver radio, and keep up on the latest headlines.

IndyCar’s YouTube channel saw a massive 58 percent increase in watch time over 2025, helped by regular postings before and after the race weekends.

The channel’s 500 thousand subscriber count is still well below what some other series draw, but the year on year gains are worth noting.

Merchandise sales were up as well, with a nearly 40 percent increase in race weekend sales of clothing items and memorabilia.

Non-Indy 500 merch sales records were broken at the Arlington GP and then again at the Freedom 250.

IndyCar is riding a sizable popularity wave lately, and is making plans to grow the platform even further.
