AJ Foyt Racing has announced that it is brining on Dennis Hauger for the 2027 IndyCar season and beyond.

The team announced the 23-year-old will be driving the #14 entry, which has been driven by Santino Ferrucci for the past four seasons.

Hauger competed in 2026 as a rookie in IndyCar, racing with Dale Coyne Racing in the #19 entry.

He earned the Rookie of the Year award by narrowly beating out Mick Schumacher and Caio Collet in the overall points standings.

Prior to that, Hauger won the IndyNXT championship in 2025, which earned him prize money towards his first year in the top level. He also was a Formula 3 champion and raced for three years in Formula 2.

“I’m really excited about it,” said Hauger. “Larry [Foyt] and I have had some very good conversations about the team and where they want to go.

“I’ve learned a lot in my first two years racing in America, but I still feel like there is a lot more for me to learn and accomplish in IndyCar.

“This team has so much history in this sport, but what intrigues me even more was hearing about the future and what they’re building now. I want to work hard with everyone there and see how far we can take it.”

Hauger assumes the driver role for Foyt’s recognizable Homes for our Troops car, which features an American flag livery throughout the year.

The relationship between the team and generous program often extends to events held off the race track.

Hauger will begin working on those off track relationships this off season, then will make his first start for Foyt in March.

Further announcements are expected from the team in the coming weeks, including confirmation of who will drive the team’s other car for next season.
