Oliver Solberg and Elliot Edmondson claimed their third career WRC victory in Chile after a faultless drive that propelled the young Swede back into championship contention.

Toyota Gazoo Racing won their tenth Manufacturers’ Championship, equaling the record held by Lancia.

Sebastien Ogier and Vincent Landais came home in second position after the championship leaders Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin stopped to change a tyre in the penultimate stage, dropping to the championship leaders to fifth in the final ranking. Ogier’s podium was his 120th, drawing him level to the all-time stage winners record held by his fellow French namesake Sebastien Loeb.

Adrien Fourmaux and Alexandre Coria were once again the top Hyundai pairing taking their 13th career podium while Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen came home in fourth overall.

Behind Evans in fifth, Esapekka Lappi and Enni Malkonen brought their Hyundai home in sixth, ahead of Josh McErlean and Eoin Treacy in their M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1. The Irish Ford pair hit a bank and a tree causing damage to the front of their car.

Yohan Rossel dominated WRC2 in his Lancia Ypsilon HF Rally2 after his teammate Nikolay Gryazin rolled out of the category lead on Saturday. Robert Virves ended second in the class for Skoda and moved a step closer to sealing the WRC2 title. The Estonian banked the WRC2 Challenge Championship.

Gus Greensmith took the final WRC2 podium and ended tenth overall.

Solberg pipped Evans in the Wolf Power stage classification followed by Pajari, Takamoto Katsuta and Ogier.

Super Sunday honours went to Ogier from Solberg, Fourmaux, Pajari and Katsuta.

Evans still leads the championship chase but with a reduced margin of 17 points.
