Rodin Motorsport have confirmed that Niccolo Maccagnani will step up to Formula 3 for the season finale as a replacement for Christian Ho.
Maccagnani is a member of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy and most recently competed in Italian F4. He achieved two wins and four podium positions across his season and is now due to make the step up in F3.
Prior to his Italian F4 campaign, Maccagnani finished fourth overall in the F4 South East Asia championship and second in the 2025 Formula Trophy. This step up will make him the youngest driver on the Formula 3 grid at 16, matching the record with Arvid Lindblad, who was also 16 in his debut.
He steps into the seat of Christian Ho, the Singaporean driver who was in his second season of F3 after racing with DAMS Lucas Oil in his debut year. Ho is the 2023 F4 Spanish vice-champion and 2024 Eurocup-3 champion.
The 2026 season hasn’t gone the way Ho expected, as he sits 25th in the championship standings with just two points. Rodin did not release the reasons that Ho is not completing the final round, but it is not uncommon for drivers struggling in the series to opt out of the final races.
Maccagnani faces an uphill climb in his debut, with three races over the weekend, including two Feature Races on a brand-new Madring circuit. No doubt the teams and Maccagnani will be relying on the data from the in-season test a few weeks ago.
