Meyer Shank Racing has announced that it has brought on Mick Schumacher for the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series season.

Schumacher will run the team’s #66 entry, pairing with Marcus Armstrong in the #60.

The announcement also confirmed that ENVE Composites, Schumacher’s primary sponsor, will follow him to his new team.

Schumacher is now officially confirmed to be leaving Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, which is downsizing from three entries to two next season.

“I’m super excited to be working with everyone at Meyer Shank Racing and really excited to be joining such an ambitious team,” said Schumacher.

“It’s going to be a special journey to start working with MSR. I am looking forward to what more I can learn from the team. They’ve had some really great success, and of course, going to an Indy 500-winning team is awesome.

“It will be great to start meeting everyone on the team and working with MSR’s partners. I’m really just excited to begin working toward 2027 together and really start thinking about how we can create a great partnership together.”

Schumacher is finishing up his rookie IndyCar season this weekend, and currently sits in the middle of the three drivers in the Rookie of the Year competition.

He has earned one top ten finish this year, earning eighth at Nashville Superspeedway in July.

The 27-year-old has struggled a bit in the other races this year and had hoped to have more consistent results. He has generally adapted well to the new challenge, however, including learning how to race on ovals.

His racing pedigree, which includes two seasons in Formula 1 and two season in WEC, brings a strong sense of racecraft to MSR as it replaces the departing Felix Rosenqvist.

Schumacher’s first race with his new team will be the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which takes place on March 7, 2027.
