Taking place much later in the day than originally planned, IndyCar completed a knockout qualifying session on the brand new Markham street course on Saturday evening.
Louis Foster was in another league with his performance, cruising right up to the walls and speeding away to earn his second career pole. His pole lap was completed in 1:13.2383.
Christian Lundgaard was second quick, though he was surprised by his pace because he had been struggling with car setup. Scott McLaughlin was third quick.

Alex Palou was among a few drivers that found the wall during his run, which means he will have to start his day from 12th on Sunday.
Rookie Caio Collet barely had his car ready in time for qualifying, but unfortunately suffered a fuel pickup issue after just a few laps and did not get a fair chance to advance to the next round.
Drivers will return to the track Sunday just past noon eastern time for 90 laps around the new course.
