Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin had a high-speed roll in SS14 close to the end of the stage. The car ran wide at a tightening left-hander, dug in and rolled several times.
He tried to get going again but nosed into a ditch. Spectators came to the rescue and the battered car got going again with significant cosmetic damage.
The time loss dropped Evans two minutes off the lead. “Just a corner was tighter than I expected with a ditch. Just a bit too brave. We got stuck, that’s the bad thing. We’re gonna have a look now.”
Evans should make it back to service, but will Toyota have enough time to re-build it?
