Esapekka Lappi crashed out of Rally Finland 800m into stage four. The Hyundai i20N found a ditch and rolled into the forest while holding fifth place overall. The crew are ok.

Jon Armstrong dropped a wheel in a ditch in stage three and spun; the Puma spat off the edge of the road where it remained stuck, despite the best efforts of spectators to help recover the car back on to the road.

Sebastien Ogier and stand-in co-driver Julien Ingrassia lead Rally Finland by 4.5 seconds from Sami Pajari, 0.3 seconds ahead of Adrien Fourmaux who was only sixth quickest in SS4.

Thierry Neuville holds fourth, 0.9 seconds ahead of Elfyn Evans, who is opening the road once again.
