Meanwhile David Ledbitter was in South Africa to cover the Intercontinental GT Challenge with first running of the Kyalami 9 Hours for 37 years. Over in the USA, Grand Prix Editor Phillip Horton spoke exclusively to Formula 1 refugee Marcus Ericsson about his successful switch to IndyCar this year.
And if that wasn't enough, over in Japan the first ever Super GT x DTM 'Dream Race' took place, with the two series pitted against one another at the famous Fuji Circuit. Davey Euwema reports on some surprise results for both series.
