Freddie Slater took a hard-fought maiden Formula 3 victory in the Hungarian GP Feature Race, surviving a battle with Ugo Ugochukwu to take the win and the championship lead.
Slater took the lead of the race early on when Tuukka Taponen was forced to pit with a puncture. From there, he led the field through multiple Safety Cars and fended off the pressure from Ugochukwu behind.
In the closing stages, Ugochukwu made a mistake and had a small lockup, which allowed Slater to get out of DRS range and secured him the victory.
