Recent Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist is set to depart Meyer Shank Racing at the end of the 2026 season.
As first reported by RACER, Rosenqvist has notified the team that he intends to sign with another squad for next season.
The Swedish driver has found slightly more success with MSR over the past three seasons compared to the first half of his IndyCar career, though he only has two career wins to date.
His landmark win at the Indy 500 in May is thought to have brought serious interest from other teams, which now appears to be resulting in a change of scenery for 2027.
MSR co-owner Mike Shank spoke to RACER, confirming the departure without issuing a full announcement on the move.
“It’s unfortunate that Felix has decided to move on from MSR at the end of the season, particularly given everything we’ve accomplished together, including this year’s Indy 500 victory,” Shank told RACER.
“Over the past several years, Felix has played an important role in helping build this program into what it is today, and we’re grateful for his contributions both on and off the track.
“There are still eight races left on the schedule, and everyone at MSR remains fully committed to achieving the strongest results possible in the championship and delivering for our partners.”
There are believed to be quite a few drivers in the IndyCar paddock that are looking to change teams for next year.
Last season’s departure of Colton Herta to F2 led to a few high-profile rotations among teams, including Will Power and David Malukas.
With Rosenqvist being one of the first to confirm a change for next year, though it is not clear where he is going yet, the dominos could be in motion for another large shift around the paddock.
