Team Vertu’s Nicolas Hamilton looks for more at Snetterton, after picking up his first British Touring Car Championship points of the season at Brands Hatch.
Hamilton piloted his Hyundai to P11 in Round 5 of the season, marking the second-best result of his touring car career.
It was also a result that was a pleasant surprise for Hamilton, given his starting position and the difficult conditions that Brands Hatch presented.
“Scoring my first points of the season at Brands Hatch was a real positive this early in the season,” Hamilton told BTCC media.
“I was pleased with the pace I displayed in really tricky conditions,” he continued, after on-off rain disrupted Sunday’s running at Brands.
“I feel I was able to take a step forward compared to the opening round, and the goal as I head to Snetterton is to keep developing and moving forwards as I look to challenge for more points finishes.”
Hamilton hopes to hit the ground running with ‘fantastic’ results at Snetterton
Hamilton is hoping that his Brands Hatch results will be the catalyst for his best season of development and results yet.
He is yet to achieve back-to-back points scoring weekends in BTCC, with Round 5 of 2026 being his best result since 2023’s second race.
Snetterton has not been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Briton thus far, but he could lean on off-season testing experience to charge through the field.
“Snetterton is a totally different kind of circuit but, like Brands Hatch, is one where I have been able to drive the Hyundai before during the off-season.
“I hope to hit the ground running in practice, and three solid results this weekend would be fantastic.”
