The Australian Grand Prix looks as though it will go ahead without a hitch after the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS), agreed to continue supporting the organisers of the event.
An agreement between the two parties looked set to breakdown after a row over the fee paid to CAMS came under review, with the organisers looking to cut the cost substantially.
However, a new agreement has gone ahead after the two agreed new terms, which include various benefits to the confederations members.
“CAMS is delighted to have reached this agreement and looks forward to continuing its role in one of the world’s best Formula 1 events and helping to make it an even greater success.
“Our officials are renowned internationally and trained to the highest standards. They will make an irreplaceable contribution to the running of the AGP.”
The benefits to CAMS 50,000 members include discounts on tickets to the race, several spots around the circuit for their car clubs to promote membership as well as a parade lap for the winners of their national championships.
