Porsche has confirmed that Ayhancan Gueven and Elia Weiss will represent the manufacturer at Formula E’s upcoming Madrid Rookie Test on Sunday, 22 March.
The session will take place one day after the CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix, giving emerging and guest drivers valuable mileage in the GEN3 Evo car.
Reigning DTM champion Gueven returns to Porsche’s Formula E programme for his third outing in rookie machinery.
The Turkish driver previously appeared in the Miami Rookie Free Practice earlier this season and also participated in last year’s Berlin Rookie Test.
Gueven impressed during that Berlin appearance. He ended the day second-fastest against a competitive field of young talents and reserve drivers.
Joining him in Porsche colours is 16-year-old Weiss, who completes the team’s Madrid line-up.
The German driver already made headlines last year by becoming the youngest driver to test a Formula E car.
He reached the milestone just weeks after turning 16 ahead of the Berlin Rookie Test.
Weiss recently completed his debut campaign in the UAE4 Series as he continues to build experience on the single-seater ladder.
The Madrid Rookie Test forms part of Formula E’s race weekend schedule in the Spanish capital. It offers the teams an opportunity to evaluate future talent under competitive conditions.
