Marcus Ericsson has a new team-mate this year in Will Power, and the Swede is already seeing positives from the new relationship.

When Power came onboard to Andretti Global after 17 years with Team Penske, the soon-to-be 45-year-old had a whole new set of people to work with.

Though he has raced against Ericsson for the past seven years, it was the first time the two had worked together on the same team.

After a couple preseason tests, Ericsson is already finding value in Power’s advice. And he is finding that often the two are on the same page regarding what issues need to be solved.

“It’s interesting to listen to and look at Will [Power] to see what he’s doing behind the wheel. Also what he’s talking about with how the car feels and all that,” said Ericsson.

“I feel like he’s already helped us with some good direction and good ideas that have made us stronger.

“What I really like personally is a lot of things he’s talking about with the car is what I feel as well. We have another driver that is agreeing with what I feel and what we need to focus on.

“That’s been really encouraging, and I feel already in Phoenix and Sebring we were making steps in the right direction.”

Ericsson’s comments hint that having a second voice asking for the same changes is helping validate his concerns to the team.

Of course, having two Indianapolis 500 winners asking for the same changes would naturally get the attention of the team’s engineers.

The relationship between all drivers on the Andretti roster this year, which includes Kyle Kirkwood as well, seems to be as strong as ever.

Time will tell how well that translates into results for the 2026 season.
