The NTT IndyCar Series completed its second practice session of the weekend on Saturday morning in St. Petersburg.

The fastest time of the day was set by Christian Lundgaard, who lapped the 1.8-mile course in 61.6157 seconds

Lundgaard set his fast time on the harder compound tire, as most drivers chose not to burn a set of alternate tires on the damp circuit.

Marcus Armstrong was second quick, followed by the reigning champion Alex Palou in third.

Nolan Siegel turned the most laps at 28, giving his Arrow McLaren team lots of data to work from.

When the green flag flew, only a few drivers dared head out on the track due to lingering moisture on the streets from overnight storms.

Will Power learned just how slick when he understeered into the concrete barriers at the tricky Turn 10 on his out lap.

He was the first to crash, but not the last. Christian Rasmussen was next into the wall when he lost control in the winding section at Turn 2.

He appeared to lose traction in the rear while on the throttle, similar to the troubles drivers were having with rear grip on Friday.

Rasmussen ended up hitting the wall nose-first, perpendicular to the wall, which allowed the crash structure to perform as designed to absorb the heavy impact.

Caio Collet also crashed his AJ Foyt Racing Chevy, although the damage to his machine was not as severe.

There were less problems as the session went on, and the fastest lap times were set on a fully dry track near the checkered flag.

Drivers will have a bit of a break to accommodate the NASCAR Truck Series race, then will be back for qualifying at 4:35 PM eastern time.
