Sergio Jimenez secured pole position for the final race of the inaugural season of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, beating Caca Bueno to the top spot in qualifying.

After sealing the Pro Drivers' Championship by winning Race 1, Jimenez maintained his form on Sunday, completing a 1m 28.491s lap to extend his advantage at the top of the table by an additional point.

While Jimenez emerged as the fastest driver at the end of the 30-minute session, Simon Evans was the early pacesetter, holding the fastest lap briefly before the inaugural champion shot to the top of the timesheets.

Five-time Stock Car Brasil champion Bueno emerged as Jimenez's nearest challenger, 0.152s adrift of his team-mate while Evans was third, 0.313s off the pace after pipping fourth-placed qualifier Katherine Legge at the close of the session.

Saudi Racing's Ahmed Bin-Khanen emerged as the fastest Pro-Am driver in the second qualifying session of the weekend to take fifth on the grid and pole in the secondary category while Yaqi Zhang followed for Team China Racing.

Pro-Am champion Bandar Alesayi was seventh overall at the end of the session, 0.940s slower than Jimenez while Celia Martin turned her first qualifying laps of the weekend, taking eighth overall after beating Ziyi Zhang with her final run of the session.

Ziyi Zhang was the slowest runner in qualifying, with Bryan Sellers' weekend of poor luck continuing after an oil leak relegated the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver to the pit lane, unable to complete a single lap.

After crashing heavily in Race 1, VIP driver Mark Hacking was unable to contest qualifying for Race 2 and will not take part in the second race of the double-header weekend.
