Mahaveer Raghunathan will return to Formula 2 for this weekend’s round at Silverstone, having served a one-round ban.
Raghunathan stepped up to Formula 2 for 2019 with MP Motorsport but has spent the season marooned at the back of the pack.
Raghunathan was prohibited from competing in the Austrian round of the championship in the wake of racking up 12 penalty points on his license.
The Indian received nine points alone for repeated Virtual Safety Car transgressions in France.
He was also sanctioned for passing the chequered flag twice in Bahrain – continuing to compete at racing speed on the slow-down lap – and for clashing with Jack Aitken in Monaco.
He has now been cleared to return after serving his suspension in Austria, where he was replaced at the team by Red Bull junior driver Patricio O’Ward.
O’Ward is this weekend competing in Super Formula in Japan, having taken over the Team Mugen seat vacated by Dan Ticktum after the Briton lost his position on Red Bull’s junior scheme.
