WRC Promotor and Rally Islas Canarias have signed a three year extension to their contract, keeping the sunny, smooth tarmac event on the WRC calendar until the 2029.

The new three-year commitment follows Rally Islas Canarias – Rally of Spain’s successful debut on the WRC calendar in 2025 and reflects a strengthened long-term partnership between WRC Promoter and the rally’s key stakeholders, including local, regional and national authorities.

“Rally Islas Canarias has made an immediate and very positive impact on the WRC,” Simon Larkin, Senior Events Director for WRC Promoter said. “The quality of the event, the character of the roads and the commitment shown by all local, regional and national partners give us great confidence in its long-term future on the calendar. Securing this agreement through to 2029 is an important step in building stability and continuity for the championship.

“Such was the economic impact to the islands from the thousands of visitors who came for the rally and stayed, that all local stakeholders were keen to immediately secure the long-term future for the WRC in Canarias,” he added.
