The 21st hour of the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans has brought drama for both Racing Team Nederland and Corvette Racing as both yellow cars had incidents requiring repairs.

First, Racing Team Nederland's Nyck de Vries shot across the gravel at Indianapolis and the tyre barrier at high speed, heavily damaging his Dallara P217-Gibson but managing to get it back to the pits, bringing out a safety car.

After the safety car had passed, a possible crucial moment in the GTE Pro battle occurred as Jan Magnussen lost control of his #63 Corvette at Porsche Curves, damaging his front end and dropping back to eighth.

In his absence, AF Corse has stepped up to take the lead with conviction, currently leading ahead of the pair of Porsches of Richard Lietz and Nick Tandy.
