Andretti Global has announced that Kyle Kirkwood has signed an extension to continue racing for the team well into the future.
Kirkwood joined Andretti in 2023 after having spent his rookie IndyCar season driving for AJ Foyt Racing.
He quickly earned his first win in Long Beach, and has gone on to notch five total wins in his three years with the team.
Kirkwood’s future with the team did not appear to be in doubt, but Monday’s announcement confirms that he will continue to race for Andretti Global for at least the next couple seasons.
“These are very exciting times for myself, Andretti Global and TWG Motorsports,” said Kirkwood.
“I’d first like to thank the entire team and especially Dan Towriss and Jill Gregory for putting their trust in me. We’ve had an amazing three years together and our future together is very bright.
“We have proven to be true contenders, and most recently, Championship contenders. Our trajectory has only been up, and I am confident that we will be fighting again for championships.
“Between the new shop, leadership, teammates and the many evolving factors within the organization, I believe this team is an absolute powerhouse, and we’re so excited for the journey ahead.”
Kirkwood, now 27 years old, blitzed through IndyCar’s feeder series ladder from 2018 through 2021, winning all three championships in his rookie year for each.
His successes in the top-level NTT IndyCar Series have been more muted, but he has shown consistent improvement including a fourth place finish in the 2025 driver’s championship.
Kirkwood will stay in the #27 entry and will partner Marcus Ericsson in the #28 and Will Power in the #26, who takes over for the Formula 2-bound Colton Herta.
