Sergio Jimenez secured his maiden pole position in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, emerging as the fastest runner in qualifying for the fifth round of the championship's inaugural season in Rome.

Emerging as the third fastest runner after the first round of flying laps, Jimenez improved his personal best qualifying run with 11-minutes of the 30-minute session to go, setting a 1m 53.573s lap to replace Bryan Sellers in provisional pole position.

Remaining unchallenged for the remainder of the session, Jimenez took an easy pole position, with Sellers ending qualifying with the second-fastest time for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, 0.228s off the pace.

Championship leader Simon Evans set the third fastest time of the session for Team Asia New Zealand and will start alongside Katherine Legge on the second row of the grid, the Briton setting the fourth fastest time despite having limited running in practice after picking up a puncture.
