On Thursday, MotoGP officially revealed its brand-new championship trophy in Rimini ahead of the Misano race weekend.

The iconic Tower of Champions has now evolved further with a ceramic-coated aluminium base while keeping its vertical column of stainless steel plaques engraved with the 76 names of every premier class champion thus far.

MotoGP announced that each plaque is shaped like a rider’s lean angle and is split into two parts. There’s a matte side with the rider’s name, and a glossy side with the year, bike manufacturer and number.

In attendance at the Teatro Amintore Galli in Rimini were some of the sport’s most famed legends. These names included Valentino Rossi, Giacomo Agostini, Kevin Schwantz, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner, Kevin Schwantz, Freddie Spencer and Dani Pedrosa.
