Will Stevens went top in an eventful first practice session for the FIA World Endurance Championship Lone Star Le Mans round at the Circuit of the Americas.

The Cadillac driver, in the #12 JOTA Cadillac V-Series.R set a 1:53.584 to go quickest, just 0.129 faster than Harry Tincknell in the #007 Aston Martin Valkyrie. Third was Robert Kubica in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P.

The session began on time, at 11:30am local time. However, it was quite quickly red flagged as the #15 BMW had stopped on track with MGU issues.

The session did not resume for a full hour, owing to GPS issues at race control.
