Meyer Shank Racing announced on Monday that it will keep Marcus Armstrong within the team for the 2025 IndyCar season.
Armstrong joined MSR this season, racing in the #66 entry alongside Felix Rosenqvist.
The New Zealand native has not only grown more comfortable this season, but he has also logged consistent results.
Armstrong has 10 top 10 finishes so far this year, including his first oval podium at Iowa Speedway, and is on track to finish in the top 10 in points.
“I’m very pleased and grateful to be back with Meyer Shank Racing and my crew for 2026,” said Armstrong.
“The professionalism and attention to detail is a benchmark throughout the field and we have certainly improved with time together which has been great. We’ll look to build on our momentum and work hard to climb the points standings.”
Armstrong joined IndyCar in 2023, running a partial schedule with Chip Ganassi racing that saw him compete in the season’s road and street courses.
He graduated to a full schedule in 2024, then shifted teams to Meyer Shank Racing for his third season in the series.
Armstrong recently said that there is no magic potion to his and his team’s uptick in performance, but they are clearly getting on well as their first season together wraps up.
His contract extension ensures that Armstrong’s quiet yet witty personality will remain tied to the #66 entry for another year running.
“We’re thrilled to have Marcus back for 2026,” said Mike Shank, co-owner of MSR.
“He’s really grown a lot this season and we’re seeing that in his results as the season has gone on. His performance this year has shown that he has all the tools to fight at the front.
“We’re excited to continue building on this progress together.”
Armstrong currently sits ninth in the overall points standings with two races to run in the 2025 season.
